Corsicana — Oct. 22

The Corsicana Art League will meet at 6 p.m. at the Senior Activity Center.  Judy Gilfert, an award winning artist from Arlington, will provide the program.  Everyone interested in the Arts is invited.  Light refreshments will be served.  For more info, call at (903) 519-9082.

Navarro Regional Hospital’s Senior Circle will host Lunch and Learn at 12 noon in the hospital classrooms. Dr. Thomas Sherriff will speak on “Depression — How do you know?” Depression is different than just being sad. You can’t simply “snap out of it” and if left untreated, it can last for months or years. PHI Air Medical will speak afterward on the Air Medical Insurance and what is involved. Emhouse Community Center meeting will be at 7 p.m. with a potluck supper. We have a new sign — if you want to see it, please come to the meeting and bring a dish!

Oct. 24

The Music Committee of Kinsloe House will present their program for the year. The program is featuring Ryan Payne with his special guest, Randy Blue. Randy and Ryan will be playing and singing their favorite country songs. Ryan and Randy have opened for such artists as Pat Green, Willie Nelson, Cory Morrow, Rhett Atkins, Roger Creager, Dub Miller, Daryl Dodd, David Allen Coe, Johnny Paycheck, Gary Stewart and Eddie Raven, just to name a few.

Members of the Music Committee are Pat Howell, Chairperson; with Bobbie Allen, Mable Foster, Carolyn French, Jera O’Neal, Vicki Payne, Margaret Thomas, and Christine Williams. Members are urged to wear their denim or dress casual and come prepared to enjoy some good toe-tapping country music. Reservations or cancellations must be made by noon on Oct. 22, 2012 by calling (903) 874-5791.

Oct. 25

Boys and Girls Club of Navarro County will hold a 2012 Fall Festival from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club, 1000 East G.W. Jackson Ave., Corsicana. Parents with children ages 6 and older are encouraged to attend. There will be free food giveaways, games, raffle items, face painting and much more.
