The Navarro Council of the arts presents "With Six You Get Eggrolls" a Fine Art Exhibit featuring the works of Helen Albritton, Barbara Jones, Gladys Espenson, Deb Miller, Stephanie Ford, and Margie Taylor at the Warehouse Gallery from May 15 to July. Exhibit is free and open to the public daily.
Eureka Crime Watch will NOT meet in July due to the holiday. We will return to the regular schedule in August.
The American Legion and The American Legion Auxiliary, Post 22, 632 N. Beaton St., will host Karaoke from 5 to 10 p.m. Come over and enjoy some good music and free hot dogs.
The Blooming Grove July 4 parade and activities will begin at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a dog show and silent auction in the park. Parade entries need to line up at the high school parking lot at 9:30 am. All types of floats are welcome. The silent auction will feature patriotic artwork. The dog show is open to everyone. The categories are most patriotic, dog owner look alike, and best trick. There will also be a most patriotic yard contest with winners announced after the parade. The Corsicana Rotary Club invites you and your family to join us as we celebrate our nation's independence. Freedom Festival will be held in the IOOF Park Thursday, July 4th beginning at 6 p.m. and culminating with a big budget fireworks show at dark. Enjoy music from the Groove Tones and the Bella Voce Trio, two bounce houses for the kids (one is a 5-in-1 combo), clowns, food vendors and fun. Bring a blanket, tent or chairs and make a day of it. All free to the public.
Blooming Grove Crime Watch will not meet for the month of July, due to the July Fourth holiday. Crime Watch meetings will resume in August on Aug. 1 at 7 p.m.

Black Hills Cemetery Association will hold its annual Fund Raiser. One hundred percent of the monies raised at this event will cover the care and upkeep of the old Navarro County Black Hills Cemetery during the next 12 months. Please feel free to come join us for lunch and a few unique finds! The meeting will be held at Watkins Construction at the corner of Hillside Drive (South 15th Street) and I-45. Lunch will be served at 12 Noon (adults $6 and children $5) and an Auction will follow. You will be able to purchase handmade crafts, homemade pies, cakes and cookies. At this time, BHCA is also selling Raffle Tickets for a hand stitched king size quilt, numerous matching pillows and a framed quilted panel that matches the quilt. This quilt set was donated in memory of Linda Lee. Mrs. Lee and her friend, Wanda Meredith, spent many hours quilting. Every stitch on the quilt, panel and pillows were entirely hand-stitched. The Chatfield Cemetery Association will hold its Annual Picnic and Barbecue on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 12 noon at the Chatfield-Tupelo Community Center. Chatfield's own John Ellington will prepare barbecue with all the customary trimmings. Cost is $7 for adults. Children 4-12 will be half price. Children under 3 are free as are Seniors age 90 and above. In honor of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812, the Association will honor the only veteran of that war buried in Navarro County, Henry Griggs. War of 1812 re-enactors and Officials of the Society of the War of 1812 and other descendant organizations will assist. All proceeds will benefit the historic cemeteries at Chatfield maintained by the Association. The Kinsloe House hosts the July First Sunday luncheon at Kinsloe House on July 7, 2013. Though the house is officially closed we are still holding the luncheon at the regular time 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The luncheon will consist of a tasty pork loin or a chicken dish with a salad, carrots, rice and two delicious desserts to choose from. The desserts will be a key lime laced coconut cake and a delicious cheesecake or a sugar free pudding. The Republican Part of Navarro County will hold its Executive Committee meeting at 7 p.m. at the Republican Headquarters at 111-B West Third Avenue in downtown Corsicana. Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner will be the guest speaker. A social time will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. saluting elected officials. All registered voters are welcome to attend. The Corsicana Emergency Corps., located at 416 South 12th Street in Corsicana, will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7 p.m. The general public is invited to attend. Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 W. Seventh Ave, Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28, 1961 and May 7,1975, or in ANY duty location between Aug. 5, 1964 and May 7, 1975. The veteran must submit a copy of his/her DD Form 214 along with the application and dues. Members and guest are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting.

Angels of Corsicana Troop Support will meet at 9 a.m. at 1020 N. Bus. 45. All ages are welcome to come pack. If anyone has a loved one serving in harm’s way, please bring their address to the packing so we can send a gift box to them. We are asking for donations of one pound cans of coffee, bug repellant wipes, and travel toothbrushes and toothpaste. These have been requested by our military. The Warehouse Living Arts Center production of MOON OVER BUFFALO, Ken Ludwig's hysterically funny comedy, is guaranteed to keep audiences laughing.
