The Annual Author’s Luncheon sponsored by the Kerens Library and Kerens Pioneer Literary Club will be held at 12 noon at the KESA Building. Texas state historian Bill O’Neal will be the guest speaker, and will speak about the musical traditions of Texas. Tickets are $10. Contact Betty Partain at (903) 396-7337 for more information.

April 11

Fish Fry to be held at the Benedictine Monastery of Thien Tam (Heavenly Heart) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The monastery is located at 13055 SE County Road 4271 Kerens, TX 75144, located off Hwy 287 and Monastery Way. The Knights of Columbus will be serving up fried catfish, fresh and hot with all the trimmings, on Friday nights through April 11.  Serving starts at 5:30 p.m. in the J.L. Collins Catholic School cafeteria and continues until 8 p.m. Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and James L. Collins Catholic School are located at 3000 West Highway 22 in Corsicana. The Hop Downtown – Annual event sponsored by our local businesses,  Corsicana Main Street Program, and Corsicana Parks and Recreation. There will be games for the kids, a bounce house, face painting, a drawing for bicycles and Easter baskets, photos in Pocket Park (2 – 4 x 6 photos for $15,) refreshments, and of course the star of the day… the Easter Bunny, who will be visiting with children and passing out Easter eggs and goodies. 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. (Weather permitting.)
