Corsicana — Roger Q. Mills Chapter 2466 Daughters of the Confederacy will host a memorial and dedication at 10:30 a.m. for A. E. Morse at his grave site in Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana. The public is invited and welcome to attend. Members of the Terry’s Texas Rangers Camp SCV will help with this event. A.E. Morse was a member of the famed Georgia Chatham Artillery battery. This will be the 150th anniversary of his last known flight during his tour of duty.
Emhouse Community Center will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Judge H.M. Davenport Jr. will review the amendments that will be on the ballot. Everyone is invited. Refreshments will be served.
VOICE will participate in Chili’s Give Back Event from 4 to 10 p.m. During this time, 10 percent of all purchases will go to support the programs and services that VOICE provides to children and families. The State Comptroller’s office will have its Unclaimed Property Team at the Navarro County Courthouse from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to help the public with searches for unclaimed property that the state of Texas is currently holding. The annual Downtown Trick-Or-Treat will be from 3 to 5:30 p.m. The Beaton Street Boo Ride (haunted hay ride) is back, there will be a costume contest for ages 0-12, barrel train ride, bounce house, the Corsicana Animal Shelter will have an animal adoption, lots of games, candy, cookies, balloons, goodies, and more. Also, Shall We Dance Fitness Studio is offering a Haunted Tour for $2 that day, and there will be photos in the Pocket Park for a fee.
