Corsicana — James Blair Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will hold its Special Awards meeting at 3 p.m. at the Kinsloe House. Younger students will be recognized for winning the history messages from their schools. High school seniors will be honored as the Good Citizenship winner from their respective high schools. One senior student will be awarded a scholarship from the Lillian Farrow Hearne scholarship fund. Presenting the award will be Barbara Lewandowski from the Texas State Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

Feb. 13

Navarro Regional Hospital’s Senior Circle  will host a AARP Drivers Safety Course 10 a.m. to  2 p.m. in the hospital classrooms. The refresher course is designed for drivers 50 years and older. For reservations and more information, contact Connie Beal at 903-654-6892 or email connie_beal@chs.net.

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Site open from 2 until 7 p.m. to assist the elderly and low income file their tax returns at the Corsicana YMCA. To schedule an appointment, call (903) 875-9310 or 281-682-0928.

The Corsicana Newcomers' Club Lunch Bunch will travel to Waxahachie to dine at The Dove's Nest. We'll carpool if we can so call Pat Schroeder at 903-872-9663 to get your name on the list.

Feb. 14

The American Legion Post 22, 632 N. Beaton St., will host a Valentines Day Dance with The Honky Tonkers  from 8 p.m. to closing. Entry fee of $5 at the door. For further information call 903-874-3938 after 2 p.m. Like us on Facebook (American Legion Post 22 Johnson-Wiggins).

The Navarro County Retired Teachers Association will meet at 9:45 a.m. at Northwest Apartments Community Center, 1360 Northwest Ave. The program will be History of Jackson High School presented by Ruby Williams. All former school employees are invited to attend.

Feb. 15

The Navarro County Aggie Moms present the Singing Aggie Cadets in concert at the Palace Theatre at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 for floor seats, $20 for balcony. Tickets may be purchased from a member of the Navarro County Aggie Moms Club, or by calling the Palace Theatre box office at (903) 874-7792.
