Corsicana — Angels of Corsicana Troop Support will meet at 10 a.m. at the American Legion, 624 N. Beaton, to help pack Christmas stockings for approximately 325 military personnel. There will be a free lunch provided by the American Legion Auxiliary immediately following the packing. All are welcome, including little ones. Navarro County Toy Run will begin at the VFW, 4609 W. Hwy 31. Leave at 11 a.m. and enjoy a scenic country ride that ends back at the VFW. Entry is one new unwrapped toy or $10 per person. Corsicana Police Officers' Wives Auxiliary is hosting a Toy Drive on Dec. 7, 3 to 5:30 p.m. at 201 S. Beaton St. We will also be collecting coats, blankets, electric heaters and food donations to be donated to local charities. Bring your own cameras for photos with Santa Claus.

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 W. Seventh Ave, Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28,1961 and May 7,1975, or in ANY duty location between Aug. 5,1964 and May 7,1975. The veteran must submit a copy of his/her DD Form 214 along with the application and dues. Members and guest are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting. We welcome any Veteran as an associate member who served honorably who does not meet the above criteria.
