Sept. 25

Jury duty for Judge H.M. Daveport Jr’s County Court, scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, has been cancelled. Those called for service need not attend.

When Are We Going Home Ministry and Spirit Sent Music Ministry will meet at New Beginnings Fellowship in Blooming Grove at 6 p.m.

The Navarro County Republican Women will hold a luncheon at Republican Headquarters, 111-B West 3rd Ave. Social will be at 11:30 a.m., Lunch and Meeting, 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Guest speaker is Frank Steed who will recount his experiences at the National Republican Convention in Tampa, Fla.  Make lunch reservations with Margarita Patterson, arcepark@peoplepc.com, or call (903) 874-8785.

Healthy Woman is back at Navarro Regional Hospital's Cafe 22 for an evening with Dr. Rebecca Guinn, OB/GYN from  5:30 to 6:30 p.m.  Dr. Guinn will be discussing methods of contraception and family planning, as well as other reasons for using contraception. Even if you think you have no need for a contraceptive, hormones in the form of birth control can help control mood swings, migraines, heavy and/or unpredictable periods and severe pain.   The Silver Dems will meet at 5 p.m. at the Navarro Democratic Party HQ at 416A W. 3rd Street (1 blk W of Court House).  We will be socializing and munching from plates that you bring so be generous with the fried chicken or sweet treats and wear your best smile. The groups main purpose is to discuss issues important to folks over 50 years young and educate ourselves on benefits from the government and civilian organizations that are available to senior citizens and veterans.
