Corsicana — Fiesta on the Bricks Car show from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Third Ave. between Beaton and Main across from the Napa store. This free event will have awards such as Best of Show, Best Project, Kids Class, Best Bike, and 10 “Head Turner” awards. Check in for the show closes at 6:30, so come out and bring your car, bike, truck, project car, 4X4, hot rod, muscle car, rat rods, etc. and show it off!

The Shakers and Scrapers Car Club will be joining the downtown cruise in in support of the City of Corsicana's Second Saturday final event of the year. We will be back at our regular location at H & R Block parking lot for the October Cruise In. Please come join the fun. Shakers and Scrapers will also have a Garage Sale the same day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Don's Auto Center (the old Stewart Motor Company) at the corner of First Ave. and Beaton St. to raise money for local charities. Lots of items for sale, so please come out and support our club.

The Navarro County Genealogy Society will host its annual workshop in the Nancy Robert Civic Room at the Corsicana Public Library. In order to accommodate everyone it will be helpful to call and register for a place at the workshop. The worship will be Genealogy 101 — a detailed instructional program on how to build a complete file on your family. A packet of printed information will be available for each attendee. Please call the Genealogy Department at (903) 654-4808 to register.

Wortham  Blues Festival will be held in downtown Wortham, with gates opening at 3 p.m., and the first band set to play at 5 p.m.

The Calico Dance Team of CHS will host a Dance Clinic from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. with registration at 8:30 a.m. at the Calico dance studio at CHS. Parent showoffs will be held at 12 noon in the Calico Dance studio. Participants will perform at the pre-game show of the Friday, Sept. 27 Varsity game (Pink-Out Game) and stay in the stands with the Calico dance team until their signature half-time performance. There will be two performances: girls grades K to third will do a routine, and grades 4 to 6 will perform a routine. Report time is 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 on the end zone opposite the field house. Girls wear clinic shirt, black shorts/pants (weather permitting) with hair back. Registration is $35 and includes a T-shirt and refreshments. There will be a special rate for those who bring two or more girls.
