Corsicana — The Southern Pacific  Sunbeam Club is a group of railroaders who gather on the first Tuesday of each month for food, fun, fellowship and the sharing of special memories. They will enjoy this time of sharing at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4 at the Ennis IHOP. They will also begin planning for the upcoming annual reunion to be held in April.

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Site open from 2 until 7 p.m. to assist the elderly and low income file their tax returns at the Corsicana YMCA. To schedule an appointment, call (903) 875-9310.

The Blooming Grove Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. in the museum at 201 S. Fordyce in Blooming Grove.  All interested people are invited to attend.  For more information call 903-673-2635 or 903-695-2633.

Feb. 5

American Legion Auxiliary meet at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. All members are urged to attend as there are some important business items that must be discussed and decisions made on upcoming projects. Visitors are always welcome.

Eureka Crime Watch will hold its regular monthly meeting at the Eureka United Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m. Special guest will be Laura Baumgardner, flight nurse with PHI, the company that provides our local air ambulance service. Join your friends and neighbors for this educational meeting. Refreshments will be served.

Thomas Meredith Chapter, Colonial Dames XVII Century, will meet at noon at the Kinsloe house. They will enjoy the program on Japan by Sandra Curtis and Arliss Watson. The Curtis family armorial ancestor is Thomas Ligon.

Feb. 6

The Corsicana and Navarro County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 96th Annual Banquet at the I.O.O.F. Event Center beginning at 6 p.m. For tickets or more information, contact the chamber at 903-874-4731.

Blooming Grove Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. at the Blooming Grove Historical Society Building. Guest speaker will be Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner. Light refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome to attend.
