Corsicana — Sept. 9

Woodmen of the World Lodge 5 will have its meeting at 6 p.m. in the Lodge Hall at 200 W. Oak Lawn.  All members, their families and guests are cordially invited.

Sept. 10

The Corsicana Emergency Corps., located at 416 South 12th Street in Corsicana, will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7 p.m. The general public is invited to attend.  Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. For further information, please call (903) 872-5072.

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 West Seventh Ave, Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28,1961 and May 7,1975, or in ANY duty location between Aug. 5,1964 and May 7,1975. The veteran must submit a copy of his/her DD Form 214 along with the application and dues. Members and guest are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting.

Sept. 12

The Corsicana Newcomers' Club Lunch Bunch will enjoy a casual lunch at the Corsicana Country Club at 11:30 a.m. Call Pat Schroeder at 903-872-9663 to save you a seat at the table.

Sept. 14

Corsicana Masonic Lodge #174 is announces its first Benefit Golf Tournament taking place at the Oak Trails Golf Course. The tournament will have a shot gun start at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., with contests including closest to the pin on holes 6 and 11, and a Hole in One contest on hole 16 with a grand prize of a new Ford Fusion automobile. The City of Corsicana presents “Fiesta Tejas” in celebration of Hispanic Heritage month in its final Second Saturday event of the 2013 series from 3 to 9 p.m. (or dark). This event celebrates Hispanic Heritage month. Festivities include live Conjunto music, Charro horse show, Ballet Folklorico, a homemade tamale contest, car club cruise in, bounce house, vendors, food, and more! The event will take place at Third Avenue between Main and Beaton Streets in downtown Corsicana. Come early and visit our local merchants.
