Corsicana — Sept. 8

The Kinsloe House hosts the September first Sunday luncheon on the second Sunday, due to the Labor Day holiday weekend, at the regular time, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The luncheon will consist of a spring fruit salad, entrée choices will be basil honey mustard chicken or French onion pork chop, creamy mashed potatoes and glazed garlic green beans, and chocolate heath trifle or French vanilla latte cupcake. This will be the first Sunday luncheon with our new caterer, Emily Hines. Please make your reservations and meet our new chef, and visit with friends.

Your  reservations must be made  by noon, Friday, Sept. 6 by calling the Kinsloe House at (903) 874-5791, giving your choices of menu and time of reservation or email your reservation and choices to kinsloehouse@yahoo.com.

Sept. 9

Woodmen of the World Lodge 5 will have its meeting at 6 p.m. in the Lodge Hall at 200 W. Oak Lawn.  All members, their families and guests are cordially invited.

Piecemakers Quilt guild meets at 9:30 a.m. at Westhill Church of Christ for a start of grub and gossip. Guild business discussion begins at 10 a.m. and after this short business meeting a program/demonstration will be presented by Charlene Bice. This will be a workshop to make a Christmas Apron. Members and guests are invited to join the fun. Bring a sack lunch and stay for the afternoon to continue working on your apron or bring your own project. Sept. 10

The Corsicana Emergency Corps., located at 416 South 12th Street in Corsicana, will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7 p.m. The general public is invited to attend.  Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. For further information, please call (903) 872-5072.

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 West Seventh Ave, Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28,1961 and May 7,1975, or in ANY duty location between Aug. 5,1964 and May 7,1975. The veteran must submit a copy of his/her DD Form 214 along with the application and dues. Members and guest are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting.
