Corsicana — Oak Valley Crime Watch will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Oak Valley Community Center. Bring a covered dish and come enjoy good food, fun and fellowship!
The Sunbeam Club will meet at the Ennis IHOP at 11:30 a.m. for food, fun, fellowship and continuing plans for the April reunion. This gathering is for all railroaders who are retired or active, their families, friends and anyone who loves a train.
The Blooming Grove Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. in the museum at 201 S. Fordyce Street in Blooming Grove. Guest speakers will be Dr. Ray Dean Carroll and Rufus Carroll who will recall their early years growing up in Blooming Grove. All interested persons are invited to attend. Corsicana Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) will be at the Kerens Public Library from 1 to 4 p.m. each Wednesday until April 11. If you are a low income (usually under $42K) or elderly, and in need of tax filing assistance, take advantage of this free program. This year we are seeing clients with appointments first and then we’ll work with our walk-ins. VITA will be at the YMCA in Corsicana on Tuesday and Thursday from 2 until 7 p.m. and Wednesdays in Kerens at the library from 1 until 4 p.m. Call George Burrell at (903) 879-2091 to schedule your appointment.
Eureka Crime Watch will hold its regular monthly meeting at 1:30 p.m. at the Eureka United Methodist Church. Last minute staff problems at Guardian Healthcare prevented Gail Barlow’s visit in February, but she assures us she will be at this meeting. Changes are in the wind so don’t miss this informative meeting. Refreshments will be served.
The Finance Committee of Kinsloe House will hold a recipe tasting luncheon. The Chairpersons of the Finance Committee are Lynda Green, Linda Denbow, and Lynda Housley. Recipes from the new 75th Anniversary cookbook will be prepared for members to sample, and the Finance Committee will be pre-selling the new cookbooks so that members will be sure to get one of the first ones hot off the press.
