Corsicana — March 6

Corsicana Volunteer Income Tax  Assistance (VITA) will be at the Kerens Public Library from 1 to 4 p.m. each Wednesday until  April 11. If you are a low income (usually under $42K) or elderly, and in need of tax filing assistance, take advantage of this free program. This year we are seeing clients with appointments first and then we’ll work with our walk-ins. VITA will be at the YMCA in Corsicana on Tuesday and Thursday from 2 until 7 p.m. and Wednesdays in Kerens at the library from 1 until 4 p.m.  Call George Burrell at (903) 879-2091 to schedule your appointment.

Eureka Crime Watch will hold its regular monthly meeting at 1:30 p.m. at the Eureka United Methodist Church. Last minute staff problems at Guardian Healthcare prevented Gail Barlow’s visit in February, but she assures us she will be at this meeting. Changes are in the wind so don’t miss this informative meeting. Refreshments will be served.

The Finance Committee of Kinsloe House will hold a recipe tasting luncheon. The Chairpersons of the Finance Committee are Lynda Green, Linda Denbow, and Lynda Housley. Recipes from the new 75th Anniversary cookbook will be prepared for members to sample, and the Finance Committee will be pre-selling the new cookbooks so that members will be sure to get one of the first ones hot off the press. Members will also have a chance to visit as well as trying these new recipes. Please call (903) 874-5791 to make reservations or cancellations by Monday, March 4 at noon.

March 6-10

The Warehouse Living Arts Center's children's company will present “Alice's Adventures in Wonderland” opening on Wednesday, March 6. Tim Kelly's imaginative and clever adaption of Lewis Carroll's beloved fantasy classic will be presented for five performances.  C. David Hill is directing the very large cast of adults, youth and kids of all ages. Performances on March 6-7-8 and 9 will begin at 7 p.m. The matinee on Sunday, March 10 will begin at 2:30 p.m. The theatre is located at 119 W. Sixth Ave. in downtown Corsicana across from the post office. Call (903) 872-5421 for reserved seating and more info. Tickets will also be available at the door as long as seats are available.
