A rejected suitor is charged with abducting a North Texas woman at gunpoint and assaulting her at his home for nearly two weeks.

Parker County Jail records show 58-year-old Jeffrey Allan Maxwell of Corsicana was held without bond Monday on charges of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault.

Electronic records did not list an attorney for Maxwell, who was arrested Saturday as the woman was rescued. The 62-year-old victim was kidnapped March 1. She's been treated for undisclosed injuries and placed in protective custody.

Sheriff Larry Fowler says the victim of the "horrific ordeal" previously complained about Maxwell and didn't want anything to do with him.

Her home burned March 3. Witnesses reported seeing a blue car with a handicapped permit near the residence, leading to a warrant for Maxwell.
