Bethel AME Church’s Dennis Johnson Missionary Society has announced that the fifth Sunday morning speaker for women’s day will be Bethel’s own Sister Charlene E. Littleton. She is a 1980 Corsicana High School graduate, 1982 Navarro College graduate, 1985 University of North Texas graduate and received her master’s degree in 1995 from Amberton University. You are invited to support this sister in Christ as she speaks God’s word. Sister Du’Ane Yancy and Sister Mable Scott are missionary presidents.

Also, Bethel’s gospel choir will celebrate 59 years of singing songs of Zion at 3 p.m. April 13 with local and out-of-town guests. Sister Denise Freeman is choir president. Minister Jason Forge is the musician. The Rev. R.C. Emanuel is pastor and the Rev. Leonard “Ted” Johnson is assistant pastor.

Faith Temple, 819 S. 15th St., where Joe Vasquez is pastor, will have a revival at 7 p.m. April 7-14 at the National Guard Armory, 3100 W. Seventh Ave., with Evangelist David Johnson. Come hear Johnson’s testimony, hear how he fell 60 feet and lived, and the personal visitation of Jesus Christ speaking to him audibly.

Johnson has traveled the country for 27 years preaching the word of God. He preaches under tents as well as in the inner city parks of America. LSCC Red Oak, 1011 E. Ovilla Road, Red Oak, will hold a ranch rodeo starting at 5 p.m. March 22 with children’s events starting at 12:30 p.m. At 8:30 a.m. March 23, LSCC of Navarro County will have a communion service. Navarro County Ministers’ Wives will have a conference at 10 a.m. March 29 at Calvary Full Gospel Baptist Church, 308 E. 11th Ave., where Erma J. Young serves as pastor. The theme for the conference will be “Mandate for 2008: Press, Push and Pursue.” The speaker will be Missionary Ethel P. Baptist, who serves as president of Navarro County Ministers’ Wives. She is also the first lady of Griffin Chapel Church of God in Christ and the wife of Supt. Elijah Baptist. She is bold, faithful and committed to the cause of Christ. You do not want to miss this opportunity to hear this woman of God.

New Bethel Baptist Church will have an Easter sunrise service at 5 a.m. March 23 followed by breakfast. A short program will be held at the 11 a.m. worship service followed by an Easter egg hunt.
