Basic free tax assistance will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Corsicana YMCA. This free tax assistance is generally available for those with incomes below $39,000 and senior citizens needing help.

Navarro County Retired Teachers Association will meet at 9:45 a.m. at Northwest Apartments community Center, 1360 N. 13th St. The program will be given by David Hill on flower arranging. The Coyote Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force invites you to the dedication ceremony for the Tucker Hardgrave Hangar at 11 a.m. at the Corsicana Municipal Airport. Norris H. “Tucker” Hardgrave was a well-loved Navarro County native who was also a respected and honored veteran of World War II. He was a U.S. Air Force pilot with the 500th Bomb Squadron flying the B-29. He received the Silver Star, the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal. The Coyote Squadron invites you to join in the ceremonies to dedicate its hangar to Hardgrave and also invite you to a lunch served immediately afterwards.

Warehouse Living Arts Center Theatre, 119 W. Sixth Ave., will hold auditions for the comedy production “Nuptials” by Judy Simpson Cook at 6:30 p.m. The cast calls for five adult men and five adult women ranging in ages from late teens through 60s. Those who plan to audition should bring date books, school and vacation schedules to the audition. Each will be asked to fill out a rehearsal availability form. Production dates will be June 4-14. Collins Middle School will host its “Tiger Night” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for parents and their children who will attend CMS in 2008-2009. There will be a brief look at class options for students, extra-curricular activities and community resources that are available. Booths will be set up with staff available to inform future CMS Tigers of requirements and choices they will make for next school year. VOICE will offer the Texas Youth Tobacco Awareness Program, a state-approved program for minors charged with attempted purchase, consumption, or possession of tobacco and is designed to the mandates of Texas law. VOICE staff is certified to facilitate this program. The class will be an eight-hour program divided into four two-hour sessions. Classes will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. April 22, 24, 29 and May 1. VOICE will have its fourth annual spring luncheon as part of the Derrick Days kick-off. Northern Navarro County Young Farmers Association will put on a free event discussing gardening and home canning from 8:30 to noon at the Chatfield-Tupelo Community Center. May 24
The second chance prom, sponsored by Gowns Galore, will be held from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. at The Cook Center on the Navarro College campus, benefiting the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. The black-tie formal event will be for people who didn’t go their high school prom, for those who would like to go a prom again, and for those who just like to dress up and have fun. There will be a silent auction, raffle, 50/50 drawing, music from the ‘60s through the ‘90s, photographer, cash bar, and free hors d’oeuvres. Tickets will be $45 in advance or $50 at the door. For a reserved table that seats 8 to 10 people, the cost will be $500. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Gowns Galore, 200 N. 15th St., located in the Southland Center.
