First Assembly of God Church, located on State Highway 31, Dawson, will have J. David Capehart as speaker in the June 15 worship service. Capehart is the son of Pastor Margaret and the late Rev. Jimmie Capehart. He is married to Karen and is the loving stepfather to two daughters, Patricia Lyons and Lauren Capehart, and the grandfather to Gabrielle Lyons.
Capehart’s professional career includes many years in the development of water purification equipment and strategies and he holds several patents. However, his lifelong love and study of God’s word and his gift for teaching have made him an inspiring speaker. His grasp of biblical principles and his applications to modern living make his teaching extraordinarily interesting and useful. This Sunday, he will teach on fathers’ love, especially focusing on the love of God, the Heavenly Father.
Pastor Margaret Capehart invites you to attend this special service at 10:50 a.m. You are also invited to attend Sunday school at 10 a.m. where classes are provided for all ages. An evening worship and Bible study takes place at 6 p.m. Sundays. Keith Berry will lead the service this Sunday.
Macedonia Baptist Church, located at Ross and Marsh streets, Streetman, will celebrate the 19th anniversary for its pastor and wife, Pastor Joe D. Hubbard Sr. and Minister Florine Hubbard, at 3:30 p.m. June 15. The theme will be “Leaders sent to preach the gospel of peace” from Romans 10:15. Guest churches will be Love Chapel Baptist Church, Woods Chapel, Johnson Memorial Church of God in Christ, Church of the Living God from Malakoff, Bethlehem Baptist Church, and Harmony Baptist Church. The spoken word will be brought by Bishop John Baker, who serves as the pastor of Harmony Baptist Church. Sunday school will begin at 10 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m. with the spoken word brought by Evangelist Machleann Grant. Everyone is cordially invited to worship in this celebration as the pastor and wife are honored for their faithful and dedicated service.
Bethel AME Church will have missionary Sunday at 11 a.m. June 29. The speaker will be the Rev. Sherry Vest of Tyler, who was “born again” 27 years ago at the age of 21. She has been on an exciting journey with the Lord since that life-changing day. She is the founder of Solid Foundation Ministries.
Vest is the administrator at Kerens Care Center. Her job is not just a job, but a ministry, not only to the residents but to her staff also. She is married to Jimmy Vest and has two daughters and five grandchildren.
A lifelong resident of Tyler, she is a graduate of the University of Texas at Tyler. She carries a license in social work and has ministered to others through counseling on the job and off. She is committed to sharing the gospel of Christ and ministering to the body of Christ through word and song to encourage each Christian to be all that the Lord has called them to be, and to call Christians everywhere back to the heart of worship and relationship.
Introduction of speaker will be given by Sister Carrie Mae Holt. Missionary presidents are Sister Mable Scott and Du’Ane Yancy. Sister Kaye Emanuel is the missionary supervisor and the Rev. Ray Charles Emanuel is the pastor. All ladies are asked to please wear white clothing. The public is invited to attend.
Greater Haynes Memorial Church of God in Christ, 601 N. Denton St., Mexia, will have a gospel explosion with a pre-Father’s Day musical at 7:30 p.m. June 14. Lighthouse of Praise, 200 E. Collin St., will have a family money management seminar at 7 p.m. June 18 presented by Betty Stokes, certified counselor with Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Dallas-Corsicana Branch. Everyone is welcome.
Lone Star Cowboy Church of Navarro County invites you to join in at 8:30 a.m. each Sunday for worship service. The church meets at the Navarro County Exposition Center, 4021 W. State Highway 22.
A church-sponsored trail ride will begin at 10 a.m. June 21 at Fairfield Lake State Park. Entry fee is $4 per person and the trail length is 15 miles.
Starting June 29, LSCC will meet at its new location, located one mile west of the expo center on State Highway 22. Worship service will begin at 10 a.m. In celebration, there will be a hamburger lunch at 11 a.m. for $2 per person. Following lunch, afternoon activities will begin including hay rides, horse rides, a Lil’ Wranglers Rodeo with mutton busting, stick horse races, and water wars. The public is invited.

Love Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 400 N. Benton St., where David E. Wilson is pastor and Sharron D. Wilson and Roy Sanders III are ministers, will present the pastor and wife’s fourth anniversary service at 7 p.m. June 21 and 3 p.m. June 22. The theme will be “Called, Anointed and Appointed” from Isaiah 61:1-3. Guest speaker for June 21 will be Pastor Rufus Gant from Mount Zion Baptist Church in Ennis. Men’s Community Prayer Breakfast meets at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday in the Lone Star Room of the Walker Dining Hall on the Navarro College campus. This meeting is open to all men in the community. Mount Olive Baptist Church, 2105 E. Jones Ave., where the Rev. Alfred Cox is pastor, will host a pre-Juneteenth special program at 7 p.m. June 14. Corsicana Area Coalition president is Elbert Turner, vice president is the Rev. Moses Miller and secretary is Myrtle Williams. The program will include a special Juneteenth documentary by Yoshio Maryuama, Ph.D., M.S.W.; recognize and present past volunteer workers of the Corsicana Area Coalition; recognize past annual royal court selection recipients; present the 2008 royal court selection, The Gospel Five singers of Corsicana; and view the new W.M. and E.C. Davis Fellowship Hall of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Open Bible study and gospel singing is held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. every Thursday at the Senior Activity Center, 919 W. Park Ave., Corsicana. Roane Chapel Full Gospel Church, 100 S. Parham St., invites you to come and celebrate the appreciation service for Elder Harold Evans and first lady Ada Evans at 3 p.m. June 22. Second Mission Baptist Church, 909 S. Fifth St., invites you to Vacation Bible School which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. June 16-20. The theme will be “Adventures in Faith: Faith Heroes” from Hebrews 11:1-2. The classes will range from pre-kindergarten ages to adult. You are invited to come out and take part in the learning adventures of some faith heroes such as Abraham and Sarah, Joseph, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, along with Mary, Martha and a few others that showed their faithfulness and courage. There will be fun activities and arts and crafts planned as well. Refreshments will be served.
Single Believers Ministries would like to inform radio listeners about its new broadcasting time, which will be from 7:45 to 8 a.m. each Sunday. Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, 125 S. Fifth St., where Bishop K.D. Davis Sr. is pastor, has a new time for radio broadcast on KAND 1340 AM. “Wake up to good gospel in the morning” is now heard from 8 to 9 a.m. Sundays. You are invited to tune in and be blessed.

Unity Baptist Church, 406 S. 34th St., where Brother Chad Owens is pastor, invites you to services: Sunday — Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m., worship and children’s church at 11 a.m., Bible study classes at 5 p.m., and worship at 6 p.m.; and Wednesday — prayer meeting at 7 p.m. King’s Kids Class meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.
