Bethel AME Church, 101 N. Fourth St., invites you to celebrate the new year as the church will have a musical and “Claim What’s Mine in 2009!” at 6 p.m. Jan. 3. The theme will be from Psalm 150:6. This will be a “bring something” musical: Bring your voices to sing, and your hands to clap; bring your instruments to play, and your feet to dance; bring your ears to hear and your heart to praise; bring your soul to rejoice, and your spirit to be blessed. Community Baptist Church is preparing a mission project in the last week of December to provide electricity to the chapel at Casa Hogar La Nueva Esperansa, but the mission project needs more funding to complete the first stage of the two-stage project.
Casa Hogar La Nueva Esperansa is an orphanage of about 28 children located in Cuidad Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico, 20 miles southeast of Falcon Lake. For more information, contact Kevin Burns at (903) 641-9160.
Faith Temple Ministries, North State Highway 75, Fairfield, will conclude its revival at 7 p.m. Dec. 12. The speaker is Pastor P.A. Rischer. Everyone is invited. Men’s Community Prayer Breakfast will meet at 6:45 a.m. Dec. 17 at Trinity Baptist Church, 1200 N. 13th St. This meeting is open to all men in the community.
