A bomb threat found written on a bathroom wall at Corsicana High School Monday prompted school district officials to end evening activities early and conduct a search of the campus.
According to a news release from the Corsicana Independent School District Monday night, a message was found written on a wall in the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) men’s restroom at Corsicana High School (CHS) that read: “I'm gana bomb the school 1-29-13 do it.”
The release said the district worked with the Corsicana Police and Fire Departments along with CISD police and school administration to conduct a search of the campus.
Evening activities at the campus were shut down early as a result of the discovery.
At 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, another release from the CISD said that the campus had been given the “all clear” for classes to resume as normal.
“We cannot begin to question the sincerity of the threat,” said Dr. Diane Frost, CISD Superintendent. “We will proceed with every precaution to protect the safety of our students and staff.”
The release also said an extra CISD police officer was on campus on Tuesday, and students and staff were encouraged to report any suspicious activity.
