Graduation ceremonies set

Area high schools prepare for commencement

Corsicana — Area high schools will start hosting graduation ceremonies starting Friday. Below is a rundown of Navarro County high school graduation ceremonies, along with the valedictorian and salutatorians.

• Blooming Grove will have 57 students walk across the stage starting at 8 p.m. June 7 at Lions Stadium. Valedictorian is Braden Nicole Wilson, salutatorian is Tyler Caine Warren.

• Corsicana High School has more than 300 seniors graduating, with ceremonies starting at 8 p.m. June 7 in the basketball gym. Valedictorian will be Benjamin Goodrich, salutatorian is Rick Sauber-Cole.

• Dawson High School’s graduation will be at 8 p.m. May 31 at Ed Mitchell Field in Dawson. Twenty-nine students are graduating. Valedictorian is Armando Martinez, salutatorian is Kyla Harrison.

• Frost High School will have 21 students graduating, starting at 11 a.m. June 8 in the Frost Performing Arts Center auditorium. Valedictorian is Andrew Jackson, salutatorian is Danial Steels, Jr.

• Kerens High School will host graduation ceremonies and scholarship awards starting at 8 p.m. May 31 in the high school gym. Valedictorian is Brittany Renee McClure, salutatorian is Cristina Lee Loscuito. A senior movie will be presented as well.

• Mildred High School will host graduation ceremonies at 8 p.m. June 7 in the Lane Gym. Fifty-five students will be graduating. Valedictorian is Fletcher Augustus Watts, salutatorian is Hunter Austin Folmar.

• Rice High School ceremonies will be at 10 a.m. June 8 at the Rice High School gym. Forty-six students are in the graduating class. Valedictorian is Paige Whitney Allen, salutatorian is Carney Donielle Metcalfe.
