Hospice and home health care companies are doing a fan drive for the elderly in Navarro County from Aug. 1 to 5.
“We’re getting all of Navarro County involved in this,” said Laura Tesmer, with Cedar Lake Home Health and Hospice in Corsicana.
The drive is asking for new fans and they will be distributed through home health care agencies and Meals on Wheels.
“It’s very difficult for seniors to use their air conditioners and they can help by using a fan,” Tesmer said.
Collection sites are at Edge Medical Supply, 3731 West Highway 31; Cedar Lakes, at 625 Main St.; Salvation Army, 212 E. First; Meals on Wheels, 1805 N. Beaton; Family Services, 517 N. Commerce (at First); Blooming Grove United Methodist Church; Kerens City Hall, 200 S. Colket; and the administration offices of the Corsicana Police Department and the Corsicana Fire Department, 200 N. 12th Street.
Although this is the inaugural fan drive for the agencies, they hope to do it again next year, Tesmer said.
