Corsicana — First United Methodist Church of Corsicana, 320 N. 15th. Street, invites everyone in the community to their annual children's musical. Over 60 children and youth will present The Best Christmas Present Ever on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 10:50 a.m. in the Great Hall. Please come and see this wonderful Christmas message with  beautifully  painted scenery. You will leave with the true spirit of Christmas!

Pastor Dave Alexander is starting a new church in Retreat, with the first service to be at 10 a.m. Jan. 6 at the Retreat City Hall on FM 709. Currently non-denominational, Alexander himself was reared as a Baptist so the message will reflect that background. Everyone is invited and welcome to come worship in this new congregation as it forms. Bring your Bible.

The annual First Baptist Church Living Christmas Tree will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings at the church at 510 W. Collin Street in Corsicana. The Living Christmas Tree consists of a towering pyramid-shaped structure in which the Celebration Choir members are perched as they sing Christmas carols and spiritual songs. The performances are free and open to everyone in the community. The doors open at 6 p.m., and there will be a “pre-tree” at 6:30 p.m. with the actual tree starting at 7 p.m. No tickets are required.

The first Living Christmas Tree at First Baptist was performed in 1985, and the choir has seldom missed a year in putting on the event.

A Charity Benefit Musical to benefit the Navarro County Family Services and the Navarro County Food Pantry will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Lifeline Fellowship Family Church, 5301 W. Hwy 31. Please come and support the organizations that help many families with food, clothing, medicine and spiritual guidance. You can help with a monetary donation, canned goods, or non-perishable items. Sponsored by Catherine Wright, Ruby Williams, and Family Service board members. If you can’t be present, please contact Catherine Wright at (903) 872-4949 to pick up your monetary donations and/or non-perishable food items. Lone Star Cowboy Church of Navarro County, located at 4495 W. State Hwy. 22, invites all to join us for our Sunday Church Services starting at 10 a.m. We have nursery for babies through age 2 years and activities for 3 and 4 year olds. Children ages 5 through 12 are invited to meet in the children’s building for Children’s Church.  We also have the following activities: Monday Nights at 7 p.m., Mounted Shooting, Tuesday at 7 p.m., Team Roping and Women’s fellowship. 7 p.m. each Wednesday is Bible Study and Youth Service. Barrel racing is held at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Everyone is welcome. Children’s Christmas program Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. Following the service, there will be an Eatin’ Meetin’ — church will supply the ham and turkey, and folks bring the go-withs. Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, there will be a candlelight service at 7 p.m. The Cowboy Ball will be held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 31. Come ring in the New Year with your favorite finger food, fun, and fellowship.

 Open Bible Study is held every Thursday morning at the Senior Activity Center, with singing beginning at 10 a.m. Bible Study is from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., and everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Fred Biltz at (903) 654-4979.

The Gospel Five will be in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at the New Victory in Christ COGIC located at 805 S. 15th St., where the Elder Donald Washington Sr. is pastor. Everyone is invited to come.

First Baptist Church of Eureka will hold a Chili & Spaghetti Dinner Fund Raiser from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 15 to raise money for the completion of the new classrooms. Plates available by donation. Join us for dinner and see the progress being made. You can join us for dinner or get your plates to go. If you're looking for a welcoming, friendly, family oriented home church visit with us. Sunday service starts at 11 a.m.

Wesley United Methodist Church is calling all third, fourth and fifth graders to come GROW! Registration for Noah’s Kids continues for its new after-school program at Wesley United Methodist Church that begins from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15  The after-school program will meet once a week this spring, but twice a week in the fall. Children will learn how to care for God’s good creation by learning to grow fruits and vegetables in organic gardens as well as other projects concerning farm animals. All tools and supplies are provided. The food grown by the children will be taken home for the consumption of their families.  A come and go Registration time will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11. Macedonia Baptist Church located on the corner of Ross and Marsh Street in Streetman where Rev. Joe D. Hubbard serves as Pastor will observe its Annual Christmas program on Sunday, Dec, 9.  Sunday School will begin at 10 a.m. and the spoken word at the midday services will be brought by Pastor Charles Kelly of the Rockhill Baptist Church and Woods Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.  Christmas dinner and fellowship will follow after the midday service. The public is cordially invited to fellowship with us!


Johnson Memorial COGIC located at 1700 S. Bus 45 at T.A. Carroll Ave. where Elder Joseph Johnson, Sr. serves as Pastor will sponsor “Taste and See” at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15.  The menu will consist of fish, red beans, salad, fries, bread and drink for a small donation of $7.50.  For more information you may call Sis. Missionary Baptist Church is located at 405 S. 15th Street in Corsicana. The church continues to experience many great and wonderful blessings. The church offers several weekly opportunities for praise, worship, study and great fellowship. Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday morning and offers classes for every age group. The Morning Worship service immediately follows Sunday School at 10:50 a.m. A Sunday Afternoon Worship service begins at 4 p.m. to allow everyone to be home before dark. Wednesday evening Bible Study meets each week in the Fellowship Hall at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening is an opportunity to study God's word in an informal setting and participate in discussion for anyone with questions or comments or just listen and observe if you wish. Missionary Baptist Church is Christ centered and affiliated with the Missionary Baptist Association. Everyone is encouraged to come and join in worship, prayer, song and wonderful, warm fellowship. Reaching Out to You Ministry of Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, 125 S. Fifth, invites you to its Finance Committee Appreciation at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 honoring Deacon R. Washington and Deacon Lee Walker. Also that day at 6 p.m. is the Annual Christmas Program sponsored by the Youth Ministry. Then, Sixth Ave. Baptist Church will be the host church for the final night of the “Year End Revival,” which is 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28 at The Pilgrim Rest P.B.C., when Bishop k.d. davis sr. is the speaker; 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 at The Thirteenth Ave. C.C. with Elder G.R. Moore as speaker; Sunday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. at The New Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde Chambers as speaker; then at 10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31 at Sixth Ave. Baptist Church with Rev. D.R. The New Bethel Baptist Church at 700 Elm Flat Road in Goodlow with Pastor Earnest Betts Jr. invite you to its Christmas Program “The Perfect Gift” at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23. Also that day at 4 p.m. there will be a “Honoring Christ Musical” at the church. Come and enjoy the Lord with us. All are invited and welcomed.

Amelia Barton COTLG, 917 G.W. Jackson St., will serve hamburgers/cheeseburger baskets and fish baskets, made up of French fries, salad and homemade cake from 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 until sold out.
