Corsicana — Benefit for Sister Vergie and Elder Willie Brown who lost their home, car, and all their possessions in a house fire March 16. This benefit program will be held Saturday, April 6 at Taylor Memorial Church, 1624 East G.W. Jackson Ave., beginning at 5 p.m. It is sponsored by the Taylor Memorial Church family. “But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.” 1 John 3:17-18. Please avail yourselves to a blessing to the Browns. The Gospel Five will be in concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the New Victory in Christ Sanctuary located at 805 S. 15th St. where Donald Washington Sr. is pastor. Everyone is invited to come.

Westside Baptist Church will have its Fifth Sunday Gospel Singing Celebration at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 31. The program of southern gospel music will feature the well-known Southern Joy quartet. The quartet has been singing together for many years and have blessed and brought joy to the hearts of those who have heard them. The fact is, southern gospel quartet music doesn’t get any better than Southern Joy! The public is invited to attend the program and southern style fellowship immediately following the service. Fourth Sunday Night Fellowship Service will be held at 7 p.m. March 24 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church 409 North Third  Street.  Host Pastor/President IDMA.  Rev. Willie L. Green, Pastor of the Bethel A.M.E. Church will bring the message. We encourage all churches and pastors please be present. President Pastor Dairy Johnson. The public is invited to come and share in this worship experience.

Unity Baptist Church, 101 S. 30th St., where Chad Owens is pastor, invites you to services: Sunday School 9:45 a.m.  Sunday:  worship and children’s church at 11 a.m., worship at 6 p.m., and Wednesday: Prayer meeting at 7 p.m. Kings Kids class meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. Tuesday, a group from Unity visits shut-ins at 10 am. Thursday, there is a Bible study at Northwest Apartments Community Center at 7 p.m.  Sunday, a group teaches and sings at Twilight Nursing Home at 9 a.m. and another group sings at Country Meadows at 2 p.m. For transportation to services, call (903)872-2861. God's Holy Temple Church Of God In Christ located at 301 E. Third Ave., our church family is delighted to show our leaders Pastor Eric and Lady Jackie Grant how much they are appreciated, working tirelessly these last three years for the building of God’s kingdom. Services started on March 19, 2013.  Special guest churches and speakers were  Tuesday: Kelly's Temple COGIC, speaker Eld. K Dixon; Wednesday:  Abundant Faith Ministry, Speaker Pastor Myron Williams; Thursday: Harmony Baptist Church. speaker Bishop John Baker; Friday: Truevine Temple Of Faith COGIC, speaker Pastor Patrick Mays, Waxachie.  Sunday at 12 noon the anniversary hour special guest Churches are Greater Love Outreach Fellowship Church,  Bishop William Lewis  and Word Of Faith Community Church, Pastor Terry Washington of Houston. We would like to thank all who have prayed for us, encouraged us, and others who have opened doors for us that were only opened by God. We will continue to work in this community with the young people with the help of God, nothing is impossible. Dinner will be served next door in the home center dining room.

Missionary Baptist Church, 405 S. 15th Street in Corsicana meets each Sunday at 9:45 a.m. for Sunday School with classes for all age groups. Sunday Worship services begin at 10:50 a.m. and 4 p.m. This week, Bro. William Dollar will continue the series of messages depicting the events concerning Christ's last few hours before His death at Calvary and His resurrection from death to life. The message this week pictures Christ's suffering on the cross, His death and burial. This series of messages will conclude with the greatest of all events, the resurrection, Easter Sunday. The Adult Bible Study and Youth Program groups meet each Wednesday at 7 p.m. The church gymnasium is open each Friday evening at 6 p.m. for fun and fellowship. Come and worship, praise, sing and fellowship with us this week at Missionary Baptist. You will be blessed.

First United Methodist Church  will hold its Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 23 at 10 a.m. at 320 N 15th St, Corsicana. Please bring a basket and be ready to have a fun time; for kids ages 12 and younger.  Register for Prize Easter Baskets to be given away after the egg hunt.  Open to the community; please invite your friends and family!

Macedonia Baptist Church located on the corner of Ross and Marsh Street in Streetman where Joe D. Hubbard, Sr., serves as Pastor will host Ordination service of  Deaconship to Bro. Cory Grant who is a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church  Church. Bro. Grant is a faithful member of the Macedonia Church and serves wherever he is needed at the church.  The Ordination service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013.  Everyone is cordially invited to attend this service and share in this great celebration.


The Women Of Glory Ministry will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Love Chapel Baptist Church located at 400 N. Benton St. where David E. Wilson serves as Pastor.  All women are cordially invited to attend. Sis. Pamela Colbert serves as President, Pastor Erma Waites serves as Founder, and Pastors David E. Wilson and Alvin E. Smith are Advisors.


The Kingdom Connection Monthly Fellowship will be held at the Love Chapel Baptist Church located at 400 N. Benton St. where David E. Wilson serves as Pastor at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013. The spoken word will be brought by Erma J. Waites who serves as Pastor of the Liberty Tabernacle Of God Church.  Please come and Praise the Lord with us in this service.

Community Baptist Church, 125 SW CR 3040, will show “The Passion of the Christ” at 7 p.m. Friday, March 29 and 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30. Everyone is welcome.

Bethel A.M.E. Church will have its youth in charge of the service on Sunday, March 24. At 11 a.m. Sunday, March 31 Bethel will observe Easter Sunday Services and Missionaries in Action along with an Easter play from the Young People’s Department. This will follow the message by Rev. Greene, then the traditional Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Sunday School will close out the day. The public is always invited to attend. Bethel’s AME Gospel Choir will celebrate it’s 66th Anniversary at 3 p.m. on April 14 with a musical. Sis. Denise Freeman, choir president, Rev. W.L. Greene Sr., pastor.

Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 2105 E. Jones Ave., will celebrate Easter Sunrise Service at 6 a.m. Sunday, March 31. They will celebrate Resurrection Sunday with the “Seven last Sayings from the Cross.” Please come and experience Resurrection Sunday with us. The public is invited. Rev. Alfred Cox Jr. is pastor.

Amelia Barton Church of the Living God, 917 G. W. Jackson St., invites the public to join for its annual Good Friday Service at 7 p.m. Friday, March 29 to worship and lift up the name of Jesus Christ. Each minister will speak on the “seven last words” and bless our hearts as we remember in this year of 2013, the great gift of love that Jesus gave for us on the cross. Petty’s Chapel Baptist Church, 1300 FM 3041, where Elvin Sikes serves as Pastor would like to invite everyone to our worship services.  Petty’s Chapel Baptist Church is located on Old Roane Road a half mile east of I-45.  Sunday worship begins at 8:30 a.m.  There is a short time of fellowship and Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m.  Wednesday night services begin at 6:30 p.m.  We would also like to invite all women to a special time of fellowship and Bible study.  It is held every second and fourth Saturday of each month at 11 a.m. in the fellowship hall.  (Light lunch and childcare will be provided.)

Lone Star Cowboy Church of Navarro County, located at 4495 W. State Hwy. 22, invites all to join us for our Sunday Church Service starting at 10 a.m. We have nursery for babies through age 2 years and activities for 3 and 4 year olds. Children ages 5 through 12 are invited to meet in the children's building for Children's Church. We also have the following activities, Monday Nights at 7 p.m. Mounted shooting and Celebrate Recovery. Tuesday Night Women's Fellowship at 6 p.m. and Team Ropin' at 7 p.m. Wednesday Night Bible Study 7 p.m., Youth Dinner 6:30-7 p.m. and Youth Service 7 p.m. Thursday Practice is at 7 p.m. March 9 the church will host a Play Day, with books opening at 10 a.m. and event starting at 11 a.m. March 22 there will be a sorting, Buckley Series, books open at 6 p.m. and event starting at 7 p.m. March 23 there will be a motorcycle ride, meet at the church at 8:30 a.m. Fee is five items to support the food basket ministry. We will ride to Glen Rose and have a barbecue lunch. March 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. will be Eggstravaganza, and March 31 is Easter Eatin’ Meetin’.

Intercessors for Navarro County Men’s Prayer Breakfast will meet at 6:45 a.m. Wednesdays. After meeting at various local churches through the holidays, the men returned to the usual meeting place at Navarro College on Jan. 16. Grief Share, sponsored by Northside Baptist Church, meets from 5 to 7 p.m. each Sunday at the Fellowship Center on Forest Lane (across the street from Northside). This is a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are grieving the death of someone close to them. Each Grief Share session includes a video seminar and group discussion. Grief Share is a non-denominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. This group is sponsored by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time.
