The Current Worship of Corsicana First United Methodist Church on April 28 will be Winter’s presentation of “Play Ball,” a humorous monologue with a message. Based on events in John 1:45-51, Play Ball updates the story of the disciple Nathaniel who wonders if “anything good can come out of Nazareth.” However, this sketch isn’t set in 1st century Israel, but in modern-day Texas, and Nathaniel becomes Nate, a philosophical Texas Rangers fan. Please invite a friend on this special day as The Current rounds out a month of Baseball Sundays with this special worship. Mark will be on hand after the service at a display table that will give information about One Man Show and DVDs of some of his performances. There will be a love offering for Mark on the day of the performance. As a self-supporting evangelist, he relies solely on churches and individuals to fund his ministry. As founder and operator of One Man Show Ministries, Mark wears the hats of drama evangelist, speaker, humorist, writer, preacher, teacher and children’s magician. Mark has been married to Laura, a Southern California native, since 1982. She works for Operation Christmas Child, the “shoebox ministry” operated by Samaritan‘s Purse.
