Corsicana — God's Holy Temple COGIC Women Of Faith invite you to its Friday night service. Come and worship the Lord with us, a night filled with praise and worship, Gospel Choir Singing, Mime, Solo by Sis. Debra Miller and The Flaming Word by Sis. Amy Roberts who is such an awesome woman of God. Amy is an ordained minister who finds her most important ministry is to her wonderful husband Jim and children. Together, they have been in ministry for nearly 20 years serving from children, youth, young adults, marriage and  family ministries. Amy has been a minister of worship since she was 17 when she felt a strong calling to ministry. Coming from Chicago, she went to Bible college in Dallas and has ministered around the country and now back to Texas. Currently, Amy works as a caterer and event planner and serves as a worship leader at God's Holy Temple Church. Easter Sunday 10 a.m. Sunday School, 11a.m. Morning worship of singing and praising God for his son Jesus on the cross, for his death, burial and resurrection. Benefit for Sister Vergie and Elder Willie Brown who lost their home, car, and all their possessions in a house fire March 16. This benefit program will be held Saturday, April 6 at Taylor Memorial Church, 1624 East G.W. Jackson Ave., beginning at 5 p.m. It is sponsored by the Taylor Memorial Church family. “But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.” 1 John 3:17-18. Please avail yourselves to a blessing to the Browns. Westside Baptist Church will have its Fifth Sunday Gospel Singing Celebration at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 31. The program of southern gospel music will feature the well-known Southern Joy quartet. The quartet has been singing together for many years and have blessed and brought joy to the hearts of those who have heard them. The fact is, southern gospel quartet music doesn’t get any better than Southern Joy! The public is invited to attend the program and southern style fellowship immediately following the service. Unity Baptist Church, 101 S. 30th St., where Chad Owens is pastor, invites you to services: Sunday School 9:45 a.m.  Sunday — worship and children’s church at 11 a.m., worship at 6 p.m., and Wednesday — Prayer meeting at 7 p.m. Kings Kids class meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. Tuesday, a group from Unity visits shut-ins at 10 a.m. Thursday, there is a Bible study at Northwest Apartments Community Center at 7 p.m.  Sunday, a group teaches and sings at Twilight Nursing Home at 9 a.m. and another group sings at Country Meadows at 2 p.m. We will have Easter Service at 11 a.m.  For transportation to services, call (903) 872-2861. Harmony Baptist Church, 400 East 12th Ave., Corsicana, where Bishop John Baker is pastor will have its Easter Pageant on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 8 p.m. with Sis. Annie Solomon and Sis. LaTresa Hervey in charge and will hold its Resurrection Day Service at 11:30 a.m. on March 31, 2013.  The church will celebrate with praise and worship ushered in by praise team members Minister Chasity Portis, Sis. Adrienne Perkins, Sis. Semetric Walker, Sis. Brandy Meankins, Dec. David Shockley, and Dec. Lawrence Williams. Elder Michael Williams will welcome guests, visitors, and friends and the primary department will give speeches and/or recitations. The sanctuary choir will lift the name of the Lord on high with songs of joy and Bishop Baker will give the joyous resurrection message. We would love to see you in these services.   



Brown Chapel AME Church, Pelham inviites you to join them for a day of worship. You are cordially invited to its Easter programs Sunday, March 31. Missionary Baptist Church, 405 S. 15th Street in Corsicana. An Easter Sunrise service will be observed this week. All are invited to meet at the church at 6:15 a.m. to be escorted to a local ranch where we will observe the Easter morning sunrise. After the Sunrise service, breakfast will be served at the Fellowship Hall by the men of the church. Sunday School and Sunday Morning worship will begin at 9:45 a.m. and 10:50 a.m. respectively. The afternoon service will be dismissed this week only. Adult Bible Study and Youth Program commence at 7 p.m. Wednesday as usual. Have a blessed and happy Easter.



Harmony Baptist Church, 400 East 12th Ave., will hold a special benefit service for their own first lady, Minister Vanessa Baker on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 8 p.m.  The church family wants to give her some much needed support for expenses incurred during her recent surgery and ongoing illness. Minister Baker is a true woman of God and is faithful to her calling in preaching and teaching God's word, praying for the sick, and ministering to the lost and brokenhearted.  She has taken on the attitude of a servant and is willing to go whenever and wherever she is needed. Community Baptist Church, 125 SW CR 3040, will show “The Passion of the Christ” at 7 p.m. Friday, March 29 and 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30. Everyone is welcome.



Bethel A.M.E. Church: At 11 a.m. Sunday, March 31 Bethel will observe Easter Sunday Services and Missionaries in Action along with an Easter play from the Young People’s Department. This will follow the message by Rev. Greene, then the traditional Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Sunday School will close out the day. The public is always invited to attend. Bethel’s AME Gospel Choir will celebrate it’s 66th Anniversary at 3 p.m. on April 14 with a musical. Sis. Denise Freeman, choir president, Rev. W.L. Greene Sr., pastor.



Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 2105 E. Jones Ave., will celebrate Easter Sunrise Service at 6 a.m. Sunday, March 31. Amelia Barton Church of the Living God, 917 G. W. Jackson St., invites the public to join for its annual Good Friday Service at 7 p.m. Friday, March 29 to worship and lift up the name of Jesus Christ. Each minister will speak on the “seven last words” and bless our hearts as we remember in this year of 2013, the great gift of love that Jesus gave for us on the cross. Petty’s Chapel Baptist Church, 1300 FM 3041, where Elvin Sikes serves as Pastor would like to invite everyone to our worship services.  Petty’s Chapel Baptist Church is located on Old Roane Road a half mile east of I-45.  Sunday worship begins at 8:30 a.m.  There is a short time of fellowship and Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m.  Wednesday night services begin at 6:30 p.m.  We would also like to invite all women to a special time of fellowship and Bible study.  It is held every second and fourth Saturday of each month at 11 a.m. in the fellowship hall.  (Light lunch and childcare will be provided.)

New Bethel Church family invites one and all to its sunrise Easter service at 5 a.m. Sunday, March 31 with breakfast served following the service. Sunday School is at 10 a.m., and morning worship at 11 a.m. The Women’s Department is in charge of the singing, praying and praise. The gospel will be presented by Pastor Earnest Betts.

Grief Share, sponsored by Northside Baptist Church, meets from 5 to 7 p.m. each Sunday at the Fellowship Center on Forest Lane (across the street from Northside). This is a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are grieving the death of someone close to them. Each Grief Share session includes a video seminar and group discussion. Grief Share is a non-denominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. This group is sponsored by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time.
