Corsicana — Bethel AME Church will celebrate the 140th Church Anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. Guest preacher and church family will be the annual speaker, Rev. Dr. Michael Waters and Joy Tabernacle AME Church, Dallas and there will be some local guests also. The youth department will present flags to our veterans in observance of Veterans Day. Church Anniversary chairman is Sis. Denise Freeman. Rev. Willie L. Greene, senior pastor.

Second Mission Baptist Church, where L.L. Polk Sr., serves as pastor, is making mammoth preparation for the observance of its 66th Homecoming/102nd Church Anniversary Celebration. Theme: “A Coming Home Time,”  Psalms 95:1-7. We are ever mindful of the fact that we have approached this milestone in our pilgrimage void of our own volition, but by the grace of God we have come this far, by faith leaning and depending totally upon the Lord. We invite our former members, home comers, and the community to join us in these festive activities. We will commence at 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 for a mass choir rehearsal of former members and home comers and 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 with an in-depth study of God's Word, where “the gathered people of God” at the Second Church will be engaged in Sunday Church School, followed by Baptist Training Union (BTU), which provides an evaluating study of the various teachings of our faith. The Homecoming Celebration will culminate with a 3 p.m. Worship Service. Our invited guest will be Pastor Alfred Cox, Jr., and the Mount Olive Baptist Church. New Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, 1808 W. 10th Ave., where Pastor D.R. Watson is Senior Pastor, will observe it’s Women's Day Annual on at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11. Our theme is "Willing Women Workers" John 9:4 “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” Our guest speaker will be Pastor David Wilson of  Love Chapel Baptist Church. You are invited to experience a evening of uplifting praise, worship, and to hear this awesome man of God. Come expecting a blessing.

St. John Baptist Church will hold a Musician’s Appreciation Service at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. In honor of 35 years of dedicated service, Sis. D. Gregg will be honored. Speaker of the hour is Minister Terry Gregg, and Lewis Taylor is the host pastor.

Bethany Baptist Church invites you and yours to its 60th Homecoming Celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18. Come expecting a blessing from god and fellowship with members, family and friends. The theme this year is “It’s Time to Come Home.” The Rev. J.R. Mumphery, pastor of the Greater Calvary Baptist Church, Dallas, will bring the gospel message. Food will be serve3d after the service.

Missionary Baptist Church welcomes Brother David Dawson this Sunday in view of a call as pastor of the church. Bro. Dawson is currently pastor of Landmark Baptist in Gatesville. Everyone is welcome to the services begining at 9:45 a.m. for Sunday School followed by the morning worship at 10:45 a.m. This Sunday, a covered dish lunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall for all members and guests. Everyone is encouraged to come join. An afternoon worship service will follow lunch. The afternoon will conclude with an exchange of questions and responses with Bro. Dawson and the membership. Two other events are scheduled for this week. First is the normal Wednesday evening Bible study at 7 p.m. Our current study is the exciting subject of angels. The other event is a church workday beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday. We will work until noon at which time we will enjoy burgers and hot dogs off the grill. The Lord is blessing Missionary Baptist and we are experiencing great things and expecting even more. See you in church.

First Baptist Church Corsicana will be bustling with activity Nov. 12-19 as members seek to pack 750 gift-filled shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, Navarro County’s largest contribution to the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind. The goal is to brighten the lives of millions of needy children around the world. You and your family can participate by filling and packing a box, just call First Baptist Church at (903) 874-3791 or Nanette Bray at (903) 874-8324. She is the collection site coordinator and can also help provide you with shoe boxes and information.

First Baptist Church of Eureka, 8718 Hwy 287 South, will sponsor an outdoor Community Family Movie Night at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16. There will be no charge to watch the movie. We will have hot dogs, popcorn and drinks for sale for those who would like to donate to our building fund. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and the family out for an evening of fun. (if weather is bad we will move inside) More details to come. Sunday service is at 10:45 a.m., first and third Wednesdays, prayer service; second and fourth Wednesdays, Ladies Night; fifth Wednesdays, Youth Night; first Saturdays of each month Men's fellowship.

Lone Star Cowboy Church of Navarro County, located at 4495 W. State Hwy. 22, invites all to join us for our Sunday Church Services starting at 10 a.m. There is nursery for babies through age 2 years and activities for 3 and 4 year olds. Children ages 5 through 12 are invited to meet in the children’s building for Children’s Church.  There are also the following activities, Monday Nights at 7 p.m., Mounted Shooting; Tuesday 7 p.m., Team Roping and Women’s fellowship. 7 p.m. each Wednesday is Bible Study and Youth Service. Barrel racing is held at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Church of Grace Without Walls Ministry extends greetings to all precious souls. Johnson Memorial Church of God in Christ, 1600 S. Bus. Hwy 45, invites the public to join its congregation at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 for our Homecoming/Family and Friends Day Celebration. We are anticipating a glorious time. As well, the public is invited to attend its Chat and Chew Bible Study each Tuesday at 7 p.m. Elder Joseph Johnson Sr., senior pastor of Johnson Memorial, will be the teacher.    Open Door Church of God in Christ, 1201 E. Eighth St., will be the location of a Benefit Program held for Pastor David and Sis. Joan Thompson at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. Pastor David Williams and Co-pastor Erlene Williams of Greater Deliverance COGIC in Waxahachie are sponsors of this benefit. Choirs from area churches are invited to come deliver musical selections, or support the benefit simply with your presence. There will be a Christian Survival Training Program at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11. Pastor David Thompson will lead this training, with assorted speakers. Greater Love Outreach Fellowship Church will hold a two-night revival at 7 p.m. nightly, Nov. 12 and 13 at 700 E. Park Ave, Corsicana. Guest speakers are Rev. John Dixon of Second Mission Baptist Church and Pastor Joe Hubbard of Macedonia Church. Come out and be blessed by the Lord through these two seasoned Men of God. Host pastor is Bishop William Lewis Jr. and First Lady Marylyn Lewis at Feel free to come and participate in the service if your choir, Elders, Ministers, Evangelists or deacons would like to sing, pray or read scriptures.

Unity Baptist Church, 101 S. 30th St., where Chad Owens is pastor, invites you to services: Sunday School 9:45 a.m.  Sunday — worship and children’s church at 11 a.m., worship at 6 p.m., and Wednesday — Prayer meeting at 7 p.m. Kings Kids class meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. Tuesday, a group from Unity visits shut-ins at 10 a.m., and at 7 p.m. is our Ladies, Phoebes, meeting. Brenda Hoover will be giving the Devotional. Thursday, there is a Bible study at Northwest Apartments Community Center at 7 p.m. This Saturday is Brotherhood Breakfast at 8 a.m., and at 6 p.m. is our Monthly sing night.  Sunday, a group teaches and sings at Twilight Nursing Home at 9 a.m. and another group sings at Country Meadows at 2 p.m.  For transportation to services, call (903) 872-2861. Liberty Tabernacle Church, 2708 W. Eighth, will sponsor a concert at the Navarro College SEC Building at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. Gospel/Christian Rap Sensation “The Radical Saints” will perform. Come out and enjoy an afternoon of music and fellowship with the community and college students. We will have live music and refreshments as well as good ole Christian fun. Look forward to seeing you in the building! This is a free concert, though donations are greatly appreciated.

Lifeline Fellowship Family Church would like to congratulate its pastor on his new appointment to the office of Bishop of Grace Bible Ministries, Texas Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church based in Bethany, Okla. The appointment was made Oct. 6, 2012 by Dr. A.D. Beachum, the presiding bishop of the IPHC. Bishop Walter has assumed the responsibility of 47 churches and affiliates, nearly 4000 congregants and 75 credential ministers. Grace Bible Ministries is a part of the Global Ministries of the International Pentecostal Church with approximately 4 million congregants in 120 countries around the world. Before the appointment to the office of Bishop, Pastor Ricky Walter served for the last six years as a member of the executive council, director for evangelism and missions, and assistant conference bishop. He currently serves as the senior pastor for Lifeline Fellowship Family Church, 5301 W. Hwy. 31, Corsicana, as well as executive director/CEO of Lifeline Children and Family  Services; executive administrator for Lifeline-ComQuest Charter School; administrator of the Molly Sparks Academy (formerly Lifeline Academy); executive director Project 100; and founder/CEO of The Andrew Society (mentoring program for young men). Bishop Walter has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in counseling/psychology, Master of Arts degree in Counseling, Master of Science degree in Family Studies, and is currently pursuing a PhD in social psychology. He has been married for 27 years to Dorothy Chambers-Walter, a native of Corsicana. He has eight children and three grandchildren.

Lifeline Fellowship Family Church, 5301 W. Hwy 31, invites the Corsicana community and surrounding areas to join at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 for the Dayspring Family Church Women’s Fellowship and Luncheon. The conference is hosted by Pastor Sonjia Dickerson, co-pastor of the Dayspring Family Church of Irving. There will be workshops on Sacred Dance and Mime at 8:30 a.m. The workshop will cover instruction in teaching, attire and spiritual discipline. The Sacred Dance and Mime class will minister in the conference that afternoon. It is available to teens, young adults and adult women. Other workshops include Financial Empowerment, presented by Paula Roberts and “It’s a Different World Where I Come From” presented by Mother Almyra Battles. A free lunch will be catered by Clyde’s BBQ, owner Kamar and Kisha Chambers, and will be served to all participants at 11:30 a.m. There will be door prizes, personal ministry, powerful worship/praise and dynamic speakers.
