Corsicana — First Baptist Church announces the beginning of V.I.P.’s, designed to minister to Very Important People (children with special needs). FBC Corsicana believes everyone is created in God’s image and can relate to God, and that salvation is a gift that is not dependent on a certain level of intelligence or ability. If you have a child with special needs, you may bring him/her to Sunday School at 9:45 Sundays in the Fourth Floor Room E405 (purple door). Someone will be there to meet you, find out more information about your child and his/her needs, and match them up with a “buddy” (aide). From there, your child will be placed in an age-appropriate classroom with their buddy. There is a “purple room” for children who may need less stimulation for a time, or a medically-fragile child, or one who requires more individualized attention. During the contemporary worship service at 11 a.m., you may choose to take your child into worship service with you, or children with special needs may remain in the VIP Room on the Fourth Floor after Sunday School with adult special needs people. When Kidzpraise (Children’s Church) begins, the VIP students will transition down the hall to join that service with their “buddy” (aide). After the contemporary service ends, you may pick up your child from the Kidzpraise Room (Fourth floor Room E411). Kids (and adults) with special needs and their families are loved and welcome at FBC Corsicana!
