Cecil Griffith, 85, of Corsicana passed away Monday, April 28, 2008, in Corsicana. He was born July 10, 1922, in Chatfield to Chester Arthur and Dorothy Layton Griffith. He served in the U.S. Army, was a deacon at Westside Baptist Church for many years, and owned the Texaco service station at Seventh and Highway 31.
Services are 10 a.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Mahoney and Brother Bill Honea officiating and interment to follow at Rice Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Johnson, Lawrence Demoss, Eugene DeChaume, Gaylon Blackman, Coleman Chew and Tommy Oliphant. Honorary pallbearer will be Glenn Albritton.
Mr. Griffith is survived by his wife, Marie Griffith of Corsicana; brother, James Griffith of Rice; and numerous nieces and nephews.
