Retha Lee Meador

— Retha Lee Meador, resident of Italy and formerly of Frost, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2008, at the age of 83 in Waxahachie. Retha was born in Waxahachie on Nov. 18, 1924, to Archie LeRoy Pogue and Allie Dora Hart Pogue.
She was preceded in death by her husband John L. Meador, parents, daughter Bernita Sage, and brothers Dave Pogue and Leonard Pogue. Survivors include her daughters Retha Lyman and husband Bob of Frost, Sandra Orr of Aubrey, Allie Dowdle and husband Bryan of Frost, and Marla Niles and husband Tim of Corsicana; grandchildren John Lyman of Frost, Marla Faye Winters and husband Steve of Trinidad, Robin Orr of Aubrey, James Orr of Aubrey, Traci Sage of Arlington, Billy Meskimen and wife Mikah of Italy, Keith Dowdle and wife Erika of Frost, Marcus Meskimen of Frost, Kristi Dowdle of Frost, and Sydney Sage of Buffalo, Mo.; great-granddaughter Kadee Dowdle of Frost; and sisters-in-law Jimmie Dickson of San Angelo and Faye Watts and husband J.L. of Frost.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Frost Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Lyman, Bryan Dowdle, Tim Niles, William Meskimen, John Lyman, James Orr, Billy Meskimen, Keith Dowdle and Marcus Meskimen. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Winters and J.L. Watts.
