Funeral services for Wayne Alan Curry, 62, of Mexia will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 11, at Blair-Stubbs in Mexia. The Rev. Chet Brake will officiate with interment to follow in the Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery in Navarro County.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Curry was born on Dec. 19, 1945, in Wollaston, England, to Aubrey and Hazel Curry and passed away May 8, 2008, in Providence Hospital in Waco. He was area manager for Hanson Aggregates and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. He moved from Amarillo to Mexia in 1979 to be the superintendent for D.P. Frost Construction at the rock crushing plant west of Mexia and continued employment with subsequent owners.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Curry of Mexia; sons, Chris Curry and wife Belinda of Corsicana and Robert “Bobby” Sacco of Eagle Pass; grandchildren, Gage Curry and Macee Curry of Corsicana; brothers, Donnie Curry of Brandywine, Md., and Dale Curry of Thorndale; and sister, Lorraine King of Thorndale.
Pallbearers will be Ray Fleet, Bruce Bates, Bill Bates, Anthony Farris, John Carlson, Jr. and McKinley Murkledove. Honorary pallbearers will be Cyril Farris and Ray Jones.
