Bobby Allen McAfee
Bobby Allen McAfee, “Grandpa,” 78, peacefully passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008, in Angleton. He was born Nov. 27, 1929, in Corsicana to Leroy and Johnnie McAfee. He was preceded in death by seven older brothers and sisters. He was a devoted Christian and dedicated family man. Dad loved fishing and raised his sons fishing in Matagorda where he retired in 1994 and continued enjoying his love of the bays and, playing cards and dominoes with all of his friends.
He is survived by his four sons, Dennis, Bob Jr., Hal, and Danny McAfee; three daughters-in-laws, Betty, Candy and Cheryl; 12 grandchildren, Dennis Jr., Elizabeth, Jonathan, Bobby III, Shannon, Julian, Jennifer, Cheridan, Christopher, Brandon, Shawn and James; 11 great-grandchildren; and two older sisters, Florine Grey and Marcialette Hettig.
The family will receive visitors from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Matagorda with the Rev. Pauline Harvey officiating. Interment will follow at the Matagorda Cemetery in Matagorda.
Pallbearers will be Pat Keton, Terry Oglesby, Bruce Smith, Tom Klaiber, Roff Krueger and Duane Roberts.
The family would like to thank the IPH Hospice and Cypress Woods Care Center staff in Angleton for all of their wonderful care and support given to our dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa.
