Helen E. Baker Donnell

Services for Helen Elizabeth Baker Donnell, 74, of Athens are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, July 3, at First Baptist Church in Athens with Pastor Roger Johnson and the Rev. Bennie W. Baker officiating.

Mrs. Donnell died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, in Athens surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on March 13, 1935 in Rogers, to the late Eddie and Annie Mae Upshaw. She worked as a caregiver for Homecare Image and served as a church musician for various churches for over 40 years.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her children whom she loved very much, Jason (Doris) Baker, Ronny Baker, Ricky Baker, Durenda G. McGee, Janice Baker, Sharon (Damon) Wilson, Brenda (Jarvas) Causey, Bennie (Janet) Baker, Curby Blaylock, Chris Baker, and Louise Criner; sisters, Margree Tyler, Bertha (Chester) Nealy, and Eunice (Don) Hawkins; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Baker, Jason Baker Jr., Ronny Baker Jr., Donald Blaylock, Tart Everage, Jarvas Causey and Charles Ray.

Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Taylor, Frank Session, Randy Session, James Robinson, Lester Brown and Don Everage.

Arrangements by John R. Harmon Undertaking Company, Tyler.
