Zelda Faye Farmer

Funeral services for Zelda Faye Farmer will be held at 2 p.m.today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana with the Rev. Bill Parr officiating.
Mrs. Farmer was born May 1, 1929 in the Post Oak Community near Roane and died Monday morning June 30, 2008 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview.
She was a resident of Corsicana for many years prior to moving to the Cedar Creek Lake area and then to Canton in recent years. For the last year she had lived in Hallsville with her daughter and son-in-law Ruth and Maurice Yielding.
She was a devoted member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Corsicana for many years prior to joining the First Baptist Church in Eustace and later the Little Hope Baptist Church in Canton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Richard Holley; her mother, Margaret Ellen Jennings Holley; and her husband, Thomas Millard Farmer, all of Corsicana.
Mrs. Farmer is survived by two brothers, Everett L. Holley of Corsicana and Alvin G. Holley of Livingston.
Her greatest pride was her children and grandchildren. Her children and their spouses include Ruth Yielding and husband Maurice of Hallsville, Patricia Barber and husband Bill of Corsicana, Debbie Oliphant and husband Howard of Canton, and son Randy Farmer of Eustace.
She had nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers at her funeral service will be grandsons.
The family requests donations in lieu of flowers be made to the American Heart Association or to the Little Hope Baptist Church in Canton.
