Myrtle French Whitener, 81, passed away Friday, July 18, 2008, in Corsicana.
She was a resident of Corsicana. Mrs. Whitener was born on September 24, 1926 in Brushie Prairie to Sam and Essie French.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters, Jean and husband David Lipscomb of Corsicana, Betty and husband Sonny Leathers of Austin, and Maxine and Jim Singiser of Hacienda Heights, Calif.; one brother, Victor and wife Dot French of Dawson; two sisters-in-law, Suletta French of Athens and Helen French of Dawson; eight grandchildren, Audrey Lipscomb, Nancy Lipscomb, Gina Hewerdine, Sonya McCory, Kristy Vargas, Barry Singiser, Steve Singsier and Mike Radke; and 11 grandchildren.
Service will be at 5 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home with Mickey Loftis officiating. Interment will be at the Dawson Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Doug Hewerdine, Dave McCory, Jose Vargas, Shorty French, Jimmy French and Donald J. Langley.
