Mary Alison (Williams) Jones
Mary Alison (Williams) Jones was born on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, 1936, in Devine, and passed from this world on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at a Hubbard nursing facility. Prior to her illness, Mary was an avid tennis player and enjoyed collecting sea shells and gardening. She enjoyed nature and spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife and mother and will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Judge C.O. and Bettye Williams; and her brothers, C.O. “Sonny” Williams Jr. and John Blocker “Tooter” Williams.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Wayne Jones of Hubbard; one son, Wayne Jones Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Carla Wetsel and husband Bob of Hubbard and Jill Pellar and husband Dan of Frisco; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Billie Cude of Devine and Sunshine Souders of San Antonio; and two brothers, Joseph P. Williams of Albuquerque, N.M., and Herb Williams of Victoria.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at Corley Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Woodall officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Cody Wetsel, Nathan Wilkins, Dylan Lenox, Dan Pellar, Bob Wetsel and Gene Couch. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph P. Williams and Herbert Williams.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
