Dorothy Louise Tackett
Dorothy Louise Tackett, 67 of Corsicana, passed away Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, in Dallas. She was born March 17, 1941, in Kerens.
She enjoyed her travels around the world with her husband and sons. She also enjoyed collecting momentos from around the world and her vast collection of dolls and Santas. She was an artist with a very special talent, but her most treasured time was with the love of her life and she lived life to the fullest each day.
She is survived by two sons, Randy Tackett and wife Pam of Corsicana and Kevin Tackett and wife Buffy of Rocksprings; seven grandchildren, Brandon Tackett and wife Natalie, Misty Tackett, Josh Tackett, Jessica Matthew, Rowdy and Elly Tackett; five great-grandchildren, Cody, Cory, Joe, Josh and Aidan; two brothers, Charlie Ray Jock and wife Debbie of Kerens and Donald Ray Jock and wife Edna of Mildred; one sister, Gracie Shuck and husband Doug of Arlington; brothers-in-law, Tim Stacey of Arlington and Clayton Bridges and wife Alma of Waco; sister-in-law, Faye Tackett of Arlington; aunt, Jean Forbus of Corsicana; three pretend grandsons, Andrew Bonner, Peyton Cain, and Kenny Dunagan; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Chuck Rash, Mona Jo Folmar, Alvina Worley, Tommy and Judy Baumgartner and all her church family at Cornerstone Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Donald Leon Tackett; parents, Charlie Jock and Nannie B. Jock; and sisters, Pauline Bass, Evelyn Combs and Darlene Stacey.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with Dr. John Lanoue officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Rash, Ray Jacobs, Rickey Jamison, Bennie Lambert, Rex Folmar, and Joe Dan Kilcrease. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
