Orville Locklar
Orville Locklar, 94, of Corsicana passed away at his residence on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009.
He was born in Kerens to A.D. Locklar and Sally Peters Locklar on Jan. 4, 1914. Orville married Vivian Huff on May 15, 1938, and was a consignee for Texaco for 20 years. He and his wife have been members of First Baptist Church in Corsicana for 41 plus years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.D. and Sally Locklar; brother, Bobby Locklar; sister, Agnes Boyd; and a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Wylie.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Vivian Locklar of Corsicana; daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Jim Kirgan Sr. of Kirvin, and Mary Jane and Ronnie Wylie of Corsicana; adopted son, Herb Adcock and wife Lu Jean of Iowa Park; grandchildren, Jim Kirgan Jr. and wife Cindy of Teague, Kim Kirgan of Mexia, Donna Patterson of Mexia, Meagan Langley and husband Darren of Kirvin, Christopher Wylie and wife Julie of Victoria, and Alison Williams and husband Andy of Corsicana; great-grandchildren, Kayse, Kyle, and Kourtnee Kirgan, and Grady Langley. He is also survived by his “god child,” Nancy Shusler.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. B.F. Risinger Jr. officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jim Kirgan Sr., Ronnie Wylie, Jim Kirgan Jr., Christopher Wylie, Darren Langley, and Andy Williams.
Honorary pallbearer will be his great-grandson, Kyle Kirgan.
The family asks that memorials be made to the Solid Rockers Choir at First Baptist Church, 510 W. Collin St., Corsicana, TX 75110.
