Fred Barlow, 83, of Chatfield passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in Ennis at Ennis Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 30, 1930 in Corsicana to Bill and Betsy Barlow. He married Eva Marie Aldama on Nov. 26, 1965 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Fred retired from Tom's Food in 1993 as a maintenance supervisor. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He loved being with his family and supported the grandchildren in all of their athletic events.
He is preceded in death by parents, four brothers, Barney, Cortis, Curtis and Lester Barlow; and sister Mary Baker.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Eva Barlow of Chatfield; son, Greg Barlow and wife Mona of Chatfield; grandchildren, Hagen Barlow and Reece Barlow both of Chatfield; brother B.C. Barlow and wife Florence of Corsicana; numerous other family members.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Rick Lamb of Northside Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bob Grant, Chad Grant, Carroll Moran, Richard Aldama, Gary Talley, Sandy Barlow. Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Heston.
