Corsicana Daily Sun
Norma B. Hodge, 90, of Corsicana went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014 at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana. She was born July 2, 1923 in San Angelo, Texas to Franklin Dee and Bessie Mackin.
She married Lee Hodge on Aug. 13, 1949. She was a loving and devoted mother to Kim, Kay and Jerry. She loved and spoiled her grandchildren Caitlin Marie and Colin Lee Hodge. They loved her back just as much. She loved her family and friends unconditionally which they will miss her dearly, but take great comfort in knowing she is in Heaven.
She was a dedicated member of Northside Baptist Church in Corsicana. Her family is very appreciative of this church for loving her and being very kind to them during this difficult time. For about 20 years she would bake loaves of homemade bread every week which she had her husband Lee deliver to home bound people and church visitors. She was known as the bread lady. She and her husband visited nursing homes and friends with needs faithfully for the church up to the week before she passed away.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Hodge; daughters, Kim Hodge and Kay Holcomb and husband Sid; son, Jerry Hodge and wife Sandy; granddaughter, Caitlin Hodge; grandson, Colin Hodge, and a sister, Mary Dee Champie and her family. She had many other family members and she loved them all.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014 at Corley Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery with Dr. Rick Lamb officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
