Patrick Wayne Jackson

A Son, Brother, Husband, Minister, Father, Grandfather, and Friend.  

Patrick Wayne Jackson, 45, of Corsicana, finished this life's race and was called home on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at the Ennis Regional Hospital. He was born Oct. 14,1968 in Fort Worth to Lucas Shaw and Ophelia Brookins Jackson. He received his formal education in the Corsicana Independent School District and accepted Christ and united with the Church of the Living God CWFF.  He later united with the Steadfast Full Gospel Church and as he began to grow in the ministry work of Christ and through the leading of the Holy Spirit he became a member of the Straight Way Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Alvin E. Smith.

Patrick met and married Demetra Steward April 6, 1991 and to this union they were blessed with seven children. He was employed with the GAF Corporation in Ennis.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lucas, step-father, Lee Jackson and four children; Reginald, Patrick, Jr., Tiffany and Terrance.

Survivors include his wife, Demetra “Tweedie” Jackson of Corsicana; three children, Kendall Gooden and wife Terah of Duncanville, Jalesa Jackson and Bryant Jackson of Corsicana; three grandchildren Ariel, Aaron, Aria, and Aliyah to come; Mother, Ophelia Jackson of Corsicana; two brothers, Clint Jackson and wife Ramona, and Alvin Evans; four sisters, Joyce Watson and husband Jeff, Regina Brookins, Lillian Bell,  Roslyn Fowler and husband Mark; mother-in-law, Shirley Steward of Corsicana; father-in-law, Alvin E. Smith and wife Linda, of Corsicana; five brothers-in-law, Camiron Smith and wife Tenesha; Demarrio Steward and wife Pam, Almonte Smith and wife Lamarsha, Jerry Smith and wife Yvette; and Kerone Felder; two sisters-in-law, LaKisha Steward and Savanna Gatlin; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

 Visitation is 1 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at the Ross and Johnson Mortuary Chapel, and wake services will follow 5 to 7 p.m. at the Straight Way Misssionary Baptist Church. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at Straight Way Missionary Baptist Church located at 400 South 15th Street with Pastors Myron Williams and Alvin E. Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at Woodland Memorial Park.  Arrangements by Ross and Johnson Mortuary.
