Eleanor “Honey” O'Neal, 88, formerly of Corsicana, died Aug. 27, 2013 at her home in Tyler.
Honey was born July 4, 1925 in Corsicana to Lloyd and Kathryne Chambliss. She lived her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, former Justice of the Peace G.W. (Dub) O'Neal and daughter-in-law Carole Henderson O'Neal of Houston.
Honey is survived by her four children, Jim O'Neal of Houston, Kathy Smith and husband Johnny P. Smith of Jacksonville, Kathy Ellis Rose of Tyler and Bill O'Neal and wife, Kathy of Tyler.
She is also survived by grandchildren Dr. Jeffrey P. Smith and wife Monica of Tyler, Lisa Mills of Houston, Laura Hall and husband Robert Hall of Spring, Stephen O'Neal and wife Melissa, Zach O'Neal and wife Allison, all of Tyler, Kristi Nance and husband Jason of Plano, and Amanda Weaver and husband Ben of Frisco.
Her life was blessed with 14 great-grandchildren and 5-year-old Emily Mills completed the fifth generation.
Honey provided abundant love and care for her family over these five generations. She was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at 11a.m. Location will be Lanes Chapel Methodist Church, Tyler with Rev. Stephen O'Neal officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lanes Chapel Methodist Church Youth Ministry, Tyler, Texas.
