Keith Farmer, 77 of Kerens, passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013. He was born Feb. 23, 1936 in Navarro to Dalton Edward and Lillie Mae McCarter Farmer.
He was a lifetime member of Hopewell Baptist Church. After his retirement from Chattanooga Glass he began ranching and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He is preceded in death by wife Doris Marie Farmer, parents Dalton Edward and Lillie Mae, brother Truman Farmer, sisters Aliene Griffin and Oneta Morgan.
He leaves behind his loving partner, Nancy Berry; children Pam Avent Tanner and husband Lewis, Mike Farmer and wife Sharon, Eddie Farmer, Vickie Holmes and husband Leonard. He is also survived by two brothers, Morris Farmer and wife Lena, and Veron Farmer and wife Mary, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home chapel with Benny Horn officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matt Scoggins, Lee Farmer, Lance Farmer, Kenny Berry, Danny Purvis, Bryan Jenkins, Cody Grace, and Gary Berry. Honorary pallbearers will be Jody Farmer, Lynn Bottoms, Bunk Bottoms, and R.K. Randall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church.
