Mr. Jessie Lee Knott, age 96, a longtime resident of Rice went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at Heritage Oaks West in Corsicana. He was born July 17, 1916 in Rice to parents, Will and Rose Knott.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Rice. He worked as a farmer, and later he worked and retired from US Gypsum.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oleta Knott; son, Eddie Knott; step-son, Elvis Musick; grandson, John Musick; sisters, Opal, Katherine, Marie and Esther; and brothers, L.V., Eugene, and Frankie.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth Knott and wife Polly of Corsicana; daughter-in-law, Christine Musick of Roswell, NM; grandchildren, Pastor Steve Knott and wife Shelia of Sequin, Ronnie Knott and wife Sharon of Ennis, Tammy Zhanel and husband Gene of Ennis, Kim Coston and husband Larkin of Corsicana, Rickey Knott of Corsicana, Kathy York of Corsicana, Mark Knott and wife Teresa of Corsicana, Shirley Borem and husband Mike of Roswell, NM, Pattie Darrow and husband Frank of Henderson, NV; 25 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at the Rice Cemetery with the Rev. Charles McBryde officiating.
