Otis Russell, 90, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013.
Otis was born July 16, 1923 in Johnson County, Texas to Otis Boyd and Nettie Langley Russell. He was a proud World War II veteran, having served in the United States Navy aboard a destroyer.
He retired from Martin Sprocket & Gear in Arlington in 1985 as plant superintendent, where he had worked for 29 years.
Otis had been a Mason for 63 years and was a member of South Fort Worth Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Otis is survived by his wife of 71 years, Johnnie Russell; sons, Gary Otis Russell and wife, Beverly of Corsicana; Randy Alan Russell and wife, Brenda of Abilene; grandchildren, Kelly Tommack and husband, Danny; Doug Russell and wife, Whitney; Richmond Russell and wife, Carrie; Zackery Russell; Carrie Hensley and husband, Kerry; Justin Little; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at Thompson’s Harveson and Cole, prior to the service.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at Thompson's Harveson and Cole, 702 Eighth Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76104. Burial will be at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
