Linda Gail Smith Brown, 72, of Fort Smith, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at her home in Fort Smith. She was born June 17, 1941 in Frost to Alva Clyde and Effie Mae York Smith.
Linda was a 1959 graduate of Frost High School, attended Navarro College and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Ark. She was a special education teacher and retired from the Van Buren Arkansas School System.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry Dee Brown; and her daughter-in-law Christie Brown.
She is survived by her two sons, Tim Brown and wife Janice of Corinth, Texas and Chris Brown of Fort Smith; her brother, Alva L. Smith and wife Jane of Blooming Grove; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at the Spradling Ave. Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Ark. with the Rev. Ron Williamson officiating.
Graveside services and burial in the Frost Cemetery in Frost will be held at a later date.
