Joe Allen Greenup Jr., 48, of Waxahachie went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. He was born to Betty Greenup and the late Joe Greenup, Sr. on June 24, 1965 in Corsicana. He graduated from Mildred High School in 1983.
With a caring nature and the warmth of his smile, Joe never met a stranger. He had a generous helpful way about him, always willing to do whatever possible to ensure the well being of those who love him. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; he was a loving father to Ashley Smith and husband David, Christopher Greenup, Sherman Greenup and wife Nichole, Trista Wheeler and husband Jared, and Kayla Bender; he was the proud grandfather of Nicholas, Hayden, McKenzi, Colton, Dillon, and Landon; mother, Betty Greenup; brothers, James and Michael Greenup; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tony Neal officiating. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 in the Murray Cemetery in Murray.
