Donald Andrew Rodgers, or Andy as he was known by most, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Judy; two sons, Damon Rodgers and wife Tina of Midland, and Dusty Rodgers and wife Jennifer of McKinney; one daughter, Julie Luckey and husband Keith of Dallas; two grandchildren, Austin and Ella Rodgers of Midland; sister, Mindy Bean and husband Ray of Montgomery, Ala.; and brother, Casey Rodgers of Wichita Falls.
Andy Rodgers was an avid sports fan who spent most of his life teaching and coaching. After coaching in McKinney and Henrietta, Andy settled in Corsicana, where he coached and taught for over 20 years. He also owned and operated Andy’s Sporting Goods Store for many years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Corsicana.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church, 320 N 15th St, Corsicana, TX 75110 or the Corsicana YMCA, 400 W. Oaklawn, Corsicana, TX 75110.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at First United Methodist Church Corsicana, with the Rev. Mike Alexander officiating. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
A private interment will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
