Manuel Flores, Jr., 60, passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at Trisun Care Center surrounded by family following a brief battle with cancer.
Manuel was born June 5, 1952 to Manuel and Thelma Joles Flores in Corsicana. Manuel graduated from Corsicana High School in 1970. He served in the U.S. Army. He was currently a supervisor for Crestline Plastic Pipe Company, where he had been employed for 28 years.
Manuel Jr. (June Bug) was a loving son, and great big brother and unforgettable friend, who will be in our hearts and thoughts forever.
He had three children, Nathan, Matthew and Amy, and he loved them dearly. He was a devoted dad and a wonderful grandpa to his four grandchildren whom he loved and adored.
Manuel was a kind, loving, and giving man, he never knew a stranger, and would help anyone. He gave often to the food pantry, always wanted to share.
Mr Flores was an excellent cook and loved to entertain family and friends. His cookouts will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Minnie and Harry Joles and Ignecia and Victor Flores; brother-in-law, Clark Berry; special friend Carla Tuck as well as numerous aunts, uncles and several cousins.
He is survived by his children, Nathan Flores and wife Joey of Corsicana, Matthew Flores and wife Heather of Rice and Amy Reeves and husband Cody of Waxahachie; grandchildren, Cooper Flores, Malyah and Bode Reeves and Kenna Flores; parents, Manuel and Thelma Flores, Sr. of Corsicana; sister, Patricia Berry of Corsicana; brother, Richard Flores and wife Denell of Tupelo, brother Robert Flores and wife Kelly of Nacogdoches; nieces P.J. Laznovsky, Sara Wilson and Wendy Montgomery; nephews, Ricky Flores, Drew Flores and Blake Flores; close friends and brothers, Jerry Davis and Bill Hartman as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Reed, Rodger Powell, Jerry Davis, James Stockom, Dan Greer, and Eddie Hodge. Honorary pallbearers are all Manuel’s co-workers from Crestline Plastic Pipe.
