The Heavens opened up on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 for David Edward Hill. He went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 95. David Hill was born to William Robert and Mable Hill on Dec. 23, 1917 on the bank of the Trinity River in Dallas.
He was an ordained Pentecostal preacher. He was always happy to teach Gods word, even from his hospital bed.
He is preceded in death by his parents; six brothers and one sister; wife Eva Nell; son Timothy Hill; grandson Darrell Gragson and great-granddaughter Cassie Walters.
He is survived by sons James and Trena Hill of Dallas, Mark and Sue Hill of Frost, David Ray and Cindy Hill of Waxahachie; daughters Charletta and Carl Gragson of Cedar Creek, Alice and Jerry Thorneberry of Frost and Dianna and David Bailey of Waxahachie; brother, Raymond Hill of Peill Town; 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Service will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2013 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Grady Cashion officiating. Burial will follow at Dresden Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randall Bailey, Jose Flores, Jim Bob Cooper, T.J. Bailey, Troy Hopkins and Carl Gragson, Jr.
