Billie Jo Stephan, 85, passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014. She was born April 7, 1928 in Dallas.
Known as “Momma Jo,” Billie was a beautiful person, inside and out. She was the matriarch of the family. She was honest, fair and loving, never judgmental, only encouraging. She was very strong and very genuine, and encouraged each of her children and grandchildren to pursue their goals.
Billie was the first woman in the “thin film” lab at Collins Radio in Dallas until she retired in 1965.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Arnold and Billie Arnold, and her granddaughter, Samantha McCombs.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph D. Stephan; daughters, Carolyn Rogers McCombs and Jo Lynn Rogers; grandchildren Audrey McNeal, Cary Kimberlin, Amy McCombs Coulter, Maj. Paul McCombs, Dusty Land, Candice McCombs Brandt, and Chelsea McCombs; 13 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Ralph W. Arnold and sister, Anita Arnold Hickey.
A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 at Eureka United Methodist Church, 8644 S. Hwy 287, Corsicana with Rev. Amy Anderson and Maj. Paul McCombs officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations made to the Food Pantry of Navarro County or the House of Refuge.
